Miley Cyrus 2013 MTV VMAs – Disturbing

My observations about Miley Cyrus’ 2013 MTV Video Music Awards performance of “We Can’t Stop”. This was a demonically degrading performance. It includes signs of demonic possession, like her tongue sticking out. I also discuss how this relates to God’s Word, the Bible, and sin.

God is All-Merciful

Based on Isaiah 55:7-9, a Bible scripture which reveals the limitless mercy of God. Jesus can save anyone from their sins. All you have to do is ask and repent.

The Two Greatest Commandments are Nothing New

God Wants Us to Obey Him

crucifixPsalm 105:5; 45:

“Remember his marvelous works that he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;… That [you] might observe his statutes, and keep his laws. Praise ye the Lord.”

Psalm 105 talks about the way God has blessed and led His people, with the conclusion that they should obey Him as a result. Obedience is key in our relationship with Jesus. Jesus died for our sins, not that we should keep sinning, but so that we would forsake our sins.

If we keep sinning, we put Jesus to an open shame and lose out on God’s blessings of obedience. This will even cost us our salvation. Now, don’t get me wrong. We are not saved by obedience; but someone who is truly saved will obey God out of love. If they are being disobedient to God, it goes to shows that they don’t really love Him. Jesus said, “If ye love me, keep my commandments” (John 14:15). Disobedience is also a rejection of Jesus. And no one who rejects Jesus will be saved.

Sinning is Not Easy

prayerPsalm 38:1-3:

1. O Lord, rebuke me not in thy wrath: neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure.

2. For thine arrows stick fast in me, and thy hand presseth me sore.

3. There is no soundness in my flesh because of thine anger; neither is there any rest in my bones because of my sin.

Sinning is not easy because you must strive with the convicting power of the Holy Spirit. This is what King David was experiencing above. His conscience was burdened.

Having a burdened and guilty conscience is, in essence, the convicting power of the Holy Spirit. This is actually a good thing, believe it or not; because it is designed to get us to recognize our wrongs and repent from them. This way, God can forgive us and we may be restored in our relationship with Him.

What’s not good is if we resist our guilty conscience. Then the force of it dissipates until we no longer feel guilty of sinning. This is what it means to blaspheme the Holy Spirit. This is the unpardonable sin; because God can’t forgive you for what you don’t repent from and confess to Him.

Therefore, the next time you suffer from a guilty conscience, make sure to make amends with God and right your wrongs as soon as possible. Procrastination is a tool of the devil that can cost you your salvation.

Sex Before Marriage and STDs

sex (1)

“Sex Before Marriage and STDs” is the continuation in a series of hubs in which I discuss my life of rebellion, dabbling in the Occult, drugs, crime and prison to life-changing conversion through Jesus Christ. In this hub, I discuss some risks of having sex before marriage, including getting an STD and weakening the sanctity of marriage. I also go into brief detail about some of the more common and dangerous venereal diseases, such as AIDS, herpes, HPV, and hepatitis A and B. Click the blue link or image above to read more.

Effective Witnessing

biblePs. 26:3-7: “For thy lovingkindness is before mine eyes: and I have walked in thy truth. I have not sat with vain persons, neither will I go in with dissemblers. I have hated the congregation of evil doers; and will not sit with the wicked. I will wash mine hands in innocency: so will I compass thine altar, O Lord: That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works.”

David connected his conduct with witnessing for the Lord. Why is that important? Because if our counduct is not godly, our witness will be effected. If people see us testifying about the Lord but not living according to His Word, they will not take us seriously. They will think we are nothing but a bunch of hypocrites.

Good and Upright is the Lord

Good and Upright is the Lord

JESUS

Ps. 25:8 – “Good and upright is the Lord: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.”

People are so quick to judge the character of God, sometimes. They say God allows evil; therefore, God must be evil to some extent. No! That couldn’t be farther from the truth. King David here, writes, “Good and upright is the Lord: …” God is good, all the time. And all the time, God is good. Make no doubt about it!

God is so good that he is willing to forgive us for our sins and lead us in His way; if only we are willing. Who else is that good? I mean, really. Put it into perspective. We killed His Son, Jesus, by our sins. Yet, God is willing to forgive us for that if we just repent from our sins and confess them to Him. Not only that, He wants to bring us into His family. He wants to lead us, to teach us; like a loving father leads and teaches his son. Let me not hear such nonsense that a God willing to do that for us is evil.

The Congregation of the Righteous

In this post, I am going to explain the significance of the congregation of the righteous and God’s judgment in Psalm 1:5: “… the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.”

What is the judgment and the congregation of the righteous that the wicked are going to miss out on, here? It is actually Heaven. Keep reading for more details.

The Saints Shall Judge the World

First Cor. 6:2 says, “Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world?” By this we know that Christians will participate in a phase of God’s judgment. Comparing some more scriptures indicate that this phase of the judgment takes place in Heaven and lasts for 1,000 years.

Consider Rev. 20:4-5: “And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them [the saints]: … and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years…. This is the first resurrection.” The duration of the judgment that the saints participate in is given here: “a thousand years.” We also have a hint as to where this judgment will take place. It will be somewhere after the “the first resurrection.” Therefore, we need to understand what the first resurrection is and what follows it.

The First Resurrection

In Jn. 5:28-29, Jesus said, “Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.”

Here, two resurrections are actually mentioned. The “resurrection of life” is the first resurrection mentioned in Rev. 20:5. This is the resurrection that leads to eternal life. This is the resurrection that occurs at the second coming of Jesus, according to 1 Thess. 4:16-17:

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Notice that it says that we meet the Lord Jesus “in the clouds” upon His return. Where does He take us from there?

Heaven Bound

Jesus gave us the answer as to where He is going to take us upon His return in 1 Jn. 14:2-3: “In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” The Father’s house is basically Heaven. That is where Jesus ascended to after His resurrection (Acts 1:9-11); and that is where He is taking us upon His return.

Those who are saved and show it by their godly lives will be counted worthy to stand in the congregation of the righteous in Heaven; and there, they will have the honor of participating in a phase of God’s judgment.

This hub is based on Job 31:1, where Job mentions his secret on how to overcome sexual lust. I expound on that and write about maintaining moral purity, detecting moral threats and how to deal with them, and staying focused on Jesus as keys to overcoming sexual lust. I also include some helpful scriptures at the close of the hub.

Misrepresenting God

ImageJob 42:7: “… the Lord said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends: for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath.”

It is not a light matter to misrepresent God. As a matter of fact, it is a sin (vs. 8). This is why it is so important for each individual to read and study God’s Word for themselves; and to test every teacher and preacher of the Bible according to the standard of God’s Word.

The doctrines that we accept or reject will affect our character and witness for God. If we accept false doctrines, we will give a false witness; and the tenth commandment condemns bearing false witness (Ex. 20:17).

Moreover, our focus needs to be on Jesus. He needs to reign supreme in our lives. We should not allow any teacher, preacher, or theory to become more precious to us than Jesus.
