God is All-Merciful

Based on Isaiah 55:7-9, a Bible scripture which reveals the limitless mercy of God. Jesus can save anyone from their sins. All you have to do is ask and repent.

God Wants Us to Obey Him

crucifixPsalm 105:5; 45:

“Remember his marvelous works that he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;… That [you] might observe his statutes, and keep his laws. Praise ye the Lord.”

Psalm 105 talks about the way God has blessed and led His people, with the conclusion that they should obey Him as a result. Obedience is key in our relationship with Jesus. Jesus died for our sins, not that we should keep sinning, but so that we would forsake our sins.

If we keep sinning, we put Jesus to an open shame and lose out on God’s blessings of obedience. This will even cost us our salvation. Now, don’t get me wrong. We are not saved by obedience; but someone who is truly saved will obey God out of love. If they are being disobedient to God, it goes to shows that they don’t really love Him. Jesus said, “If ye love me, keep my commandments” (John 14:15). Disobedience is also a rejection of Jesus. And no one who rejects Jesus will be saved.

All the World Will Worship the Lord

PraiseGodPsalm 66:4:

All the earth shall worship thee, and shall sing unto thee; they shall sing to thy name. Selah.

The psalmist here speaks of a time when all of the earth shall worship God. When will that be? Apparently, that will only be after the second coming of Jesus and the destruction of the wicked. Then will God establish his kingdom of righteousness. Everyone in it will be saved; and they will all worship the Lord together. I look forward to that time, don’t you?

Protection in the Shadow of God’s Wings, or Not?

handThe Bible promised protection from God. However, sometimes good people, even Christians, suffer and die. Why does this happen? I attempt to explain this in this hub. Click here to read it. Or click on the image above.

Salvation & Sanctification

crucifix

Psalm 56:13:

For thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?

The statement that King David made above is also applicable to the Christian experience. God has delivered us from death—the penalty of sin. Jesus died for our sins on the cross so we don’t have to. Along with saving us, God also enables us to walk, that is to live, according to His Word.

Second Peter 1:3-4 puts it this way:

…his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

In other words, we are not only saved from the penalty of sin, we are also saved from the power of sin. We don’t have to sin. Moreover we shouldn’t be sinning. That is what God wants to teach us. Not only so we can be a glory to His name and blessing to others in this life, but so we can prepare for the eternal life of righteousness to come.

May God be with you in your daily walk with Him. God bless you.

Scheduled Times of Prayer

prayerPsalm 55:17:

Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.

Kind David had a habit of praying three times a day. This is a good habit for Christians to have.

Praying upon raising will help to ensure that we get our day started right. Our focus will be directed towards God at the onset of our day. And if we pray for His wisdom and guidance at the beginning of our day, He will help us to make the right decisions.

Personally, I don’t pray much at noon. I pray in the morning and in the evening, specifically. But I do pray to God in my mind throughout the day. For example, when I’m tempted or perplexed. Then I shoot my petitions to the throne of God in the quietness of my soul.

At bed time, it is good to thank God for his blessings and guidance throughout the day. That is also when I pray for individuals on my prayer list. I keep a prayer list on my iPhone which I refer to in my evening prayers.

If we maintain these kinds of habits in our lives, we will have a closer relationship with God and others will be blessed by our influence, as well.

The Fool Says There is No God

Creation-GodPsalm 53:1:

The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God.

Why does the Bible call people who deny the existence of God foolish? It is because God has provided an abundant amount of evidence for Himself. For example, everything in existence works by complex design and irreducible complexity. If it has been designed, that means there must be a designer; and that designer is God.

Also, let’s not forget about the life of Jesus and the Word of God, the Bible. Jesus came to our world 2,000 years ago to reveal to this rebellious planet the character and love of God. His life and ministry so impacted history that a large amount of its inhabitants now call themselves Christians—followers of Christ.

About the Bible: there is no other book like it in existence. It is historically accurate, full of practical wisdom; and nothing compares to its numerous fulfilled prophecies.

God is real. It is foolish to think otherwise. The only reason for someone to deny the existence of God, in my opinion, is because they don’t want to live according to His Word.

Giving Equals Blessings!

PraiseGod

Psalm 41:1, 2:

1. Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble.

2. The Lord will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.

This passage really resonatges with me, because I can relate to it. I remember when I was finishing my 9 year federal prison term. I was a Christian by now. I was in a holding cell, awaiting deportation to Poland. There was a Mexican national with me, awaiting deportation to Mexico.

I had about $270 in my pocket. The Mexican guy mentioned that he had no money for the bus to get from the location of his deportation to his home, which cost $15. I happily gave him the money for his bus ticket.

There are blessings in giving; and I knew that I would need all the divine help that I could get in days ahead. I was getting deported to a country that I knew nearly nothing about. I was born there, but left with my family when I was three years old. However, I’m happy to say that God didn’t let me down.

My deportation took place over two years. Currently, I am the owner of a flat worth over $50,000 and I have a steady income. God is good.
