Based on Isaiah 55:7-9, a Bible scripture which reveals the limitless mercy of God. Jesus can save anyone from their sins. All you have to do is ask and repent.

God Wants Us to Obey Him

crucifixPsalm 105:5; 45:

“Remember his marvelous works that he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;… That [you] might observe his statutes, and keep his laws. Praise ye the Lord.”

Psalm 105 talks about the way God has blessed and led His people, with the conclusion that they should obey Him as a result. Obedience is key in our relationship with Jesus. Jesus died for our sins, not that we should keep sinning, but so that we would forsake our sins.

If we keep sinning, we put Jesus to an open shame and lose out on God’s blessings of obedience. This will even cost us our salvation. Now, don’t get me wrong. We are not saved by obedience; but someone who is truly saved will obey God out of love. If they are being disobedient to God, it goes to shows that they don’t really love Him. Jesus said, “If ye love me, keep my commandments” (John 14:15). Disobedience is also a rejection of Jesus. And no one who rejects Jesus will be saved.

All the World Will Worship the Lord

PraiseGodPsalm 66:4:

All the earth shall worship thee, and shall sing unto thee; they shall sing to thy name. Selah.

The psalmist here speaks of a time when all of the earth shall worship God. When will that be? Apparently, that will only be after the second coming of Jesus and the destruction of the wicked. Then will God establish his kingdom of righteousness. Everyone in it will be saved; and they will all worship the Lord together. I look forward to that time, don’t you?

Salvation & Sanctification

crucifix

Psalm 56:13:

For thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?

The statement that King David made above is also applicable to the Christian experience. God has delivered us from death—the penalty of sin. Jesus died for our sins on the cross so we don’t have to. Along with saving us, God also enables us to walk, that is to live, according to His Word.

Second Peter 1:3-4 puts it this way:

…his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

In other words, we are not only saved from the penalty of sin, we are also saved from the power of sin. We don’t have to sin. Moreover we shouldn’t be sinning. That is what God wants to teach us. Not only so we can be a glory to His name and blessing to others in this life, but so we can prepare for the eternal life of righteousness to come.

May God be with you in your daily walk with Him. God bless you.

Jesus – The Light & Truth of God

newjerusalemPsalm 43:3:

O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles.

David spoke of God’s “light” and “truth” which were to lead him to God’s “holy hill”. What is this light and truth? And what did David mean by holy hill?

The light and truth of God are Jesus and His Word. Notice how this is indicated by the following scriptures:

Light

“Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” – John 8:12

“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” – Psalm 119:105

Truth

Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” – John 14:6

“Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” – John 17:17

God’s “holy hill” is basically Heaven. Psalm 24:4 talks about ascending to it; and Christians expect to ascend to Heaven at the second coming of Jesus (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; John 14:2-3).

Therefore, it is Jesus and His Word which will lead us to Heaven. If we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior and follow His Word, there will be found a place for us in eternal glory.

The Scriptures Point to Jesus

bible

Ps 30:3:

“O Lord, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.”

This is a prophetic scripture. The reason I say that is because it points forward to the resurrection of Jesus. There are many scriptures like this in the Bible. Scriptures which touch on Jesus life and ministry, someway. And that is why I am convinced that Jesus is the Messiah of the Bible.

Loving Your Enemies

Jesus said to love your enemies; but that’s not always an easy thing to do. Also, what does that really mean? Does it mean we should warm and fuzzy feelings about them? Or is it more of a matter of our actions towards them? I explain this in this Christian vlog.

Holiness Worship

PraiseGod

Ps. 29:1, 2 – “Give unto the Lord, O ye mighty, give unto the Lord glory and strength. Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.”

Worshipping the Lord in the beauty of holiness means to live a holy life. That is, a life that reflects the character of God. For God is holy. This will truly bring God glory because others will see how much Jesus has changed our lives and praise God for His doing so.

Good and Upright is the Lord

Good and Upright is the Lord

JESUS

Ps. 25:8 – “Good and upright is the Lord: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.”

People are so quick to judge the character of God, sometimes. They say God allows evil; therefore, God must be evil to some extent. No! That couldn’t be farther from the truth. King David here, writes, “Good and upright is the Lord: …” God is good, all the time. And all the time, God is good. Make no doubt about it!

God is so good that he is willing to forgive us for our sins and lead us in His way; if only we are willing. Who else is that good? I mean, really. Put it into perspective. We killed His Son, Jesus, by our sins. Yet, God is willing to forgive us for that if we just repent from our sins and confess them to Him. Not only that, He wants to bring us into His family. He wants to lead us, to teach us; like a loving father leads and teaches his son. Let me not hear such nonsense that a God willing to do that for us is evil.

Misrepresenting God

ImageJob 42:7: “… the Lord said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends: for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath.”

It is not a light matter to misrepresent God. As a matter of fact, it is a sin (vs. 8). This is why it is so important for each individual to read and study God’s Word for themselves; and to test every teacher and preacher of the Bible according to the standard of God’s Word.

The doctrines that we accept or reject will affect our character and witness for God. If we accept false doctrines, we will give a false witness; and the tenth commandment condemns bearing false witness (Ex. 20:17).

Moreover, our focus needs to be on Jesus. He needs to reign supreme in our lives. We should not allow any teacher, preacher, or theory to become more precious to us than Jesus.
